The world feels so upside down right now. There is so much anger, greed, and division. And I’ll admit, there are times when I really struggle to stay positive and hopeful, to trust and believe in the process.
But then, the Universe sends me gentle reminders that I’m on the right path. That unseen forces are guiding me. That there is still beauty in this world, and so many kind, generous, and creative souls walking it.
In 2013, a year after I began making art “for real,” I created a collage of the goddess Prajñāpāramitā and called it The Perfection of Wisdom. I had found an image online, believing it was of an ancient Indonesian statue. But last week, I received an unexpected and deeply moving message from the sculptor himself, Sagara Vajra.
Dear Josee,
I recently came across your collage incorporating the image of Prajñāpāramitā from a sculpture I created many years ago. Seeing it bloom through your work felt like witnessing a shared current of devotion and a recognition of some mystery flowing through the realms of mycelial imagination.
I wanted simply to acknowledge the beauty of how this image has taken on new life in your composition, and to offer my appreciation. If ever you feel drawn to speak about this thread, I would be honored. If not, please simply receive this as a gesture of blessing and delight in your creativity.
With respect and warmth,
Sagara
I had no idea the sculpture was a contemporary creation. I had truly believed it was an ancient depiction of Prajñāpāramitā in the public domain.

After reading his email, I found the original photo and credit on Wikimedia Commons: “Sanctuary and statue made by Sagaravajra, Buddhafield Green Retreat, 2006.” I hadn’t realized the statue was part of a much larger and breathtaking installation.
I wrote back to Sagara with deep gratitude. I was so moved to learn that it was his work, and even more touched that he felt resonance in how it appeared in my collage. It meant the world to me that he received it with such openness and generosity.
I call this Divine timing. I had been debating whether to start making art again — perhaps a new series of mini collages to complement my smoke bundles and other Mind, Body, Spirit essentials. I feel called to create pieces that weave together ancient wisdom and a touch of witchy wonder — small portals of intuition, mystery, and feminine magic. Well, I think I just received my answer.

This experience reminded me to keep going, no matter what. To trust that inspiration finds us when we need it most. To keep creating, transforming, and healing.
Something new is stirring in the studio… I can feel the magic beginning to take shape.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me in my creative journey. Your kindness means more than I can say.
With deep gratitude,
Josée 🌿
Art, like spirit, moves in mysterious circles. What we create has a way of finding its way home, carrying messages we didn’t know we were ready to receive.
